There are Three Intakes in an Year

• This is a special scholarship for SC/ST students
• A merit-cum-means scholarship for pursuing higher studies abroad.
• This program helps talented and qualified students to continue postgraduate level (or above) courses.
• Financial assistance will be provided by SC/ST Development Departments.
• The Kerala Government has authorized ODEPC Ltd to oversee the student admissions process and the distribution of the Unnathi Scholarship.

• Must be a resident of Kerala and belong to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe category in Kerala.
• Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks as per the university criteria in the qualifying examination.
• Must be below 35 years of age at the date of application.
• The applicant should not be a government employee or an employee of a public sector undertaking.

SC Community -Based on the annual income applicants categorized into 3 slabs

• Income Below Rs.12,00,000 - A Maximum of 175 students will get a scholarship of 25 lakhs each.
• Income Between Rs.12,00,001 -Rs .20,00,000- A Maximum of 25 students will get a scholarship of 20 lakhs each.
• Income Above Rs.20,00,000 - A Maximum of 25 students will get a scholarship of 15 lakhs each.

ST Community – A Maximum of 50 students will get a scholarship of 25 lakhs each.

Other than the above 25 students belonging to scheduled caste category (Income limit Rs 20 lakh & above) and 10 students belonging to scheduled tribe category (No income limit) shall be provided with interest free education loan by the SC –ST Development Corporation. The interest component will be borne by the government.

The total number of scholarships for the year shall be 310.

Scholarships will be limited to courses in universities or other higher education institutions that fall in the top 500 ranks according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

• One way flight tickets of economy class. Return air ticket will be issued if the candidate is travelling back to India within 1 month after the date of course completion.
• Medical Insurance Premium.
• Tuition fee.
• Accommodation (on certification by the university/ institution).
• Living expenses (food, local travel, etc.)
• Visa Charges & Applicable service charge.
• Other non-refundable expenses/ remittances to the Institution/University.
• Pick up from Airport to the place of accommodation.
