Requirements
- Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- IELTS/OET as per NMC requirements
- IELTS Academic (R: 7.0 ; S: 7.0; R:7.0; W:6.5) OR
- OET (R: B ; S: B; R:B; W:C+)
- Minimum 3 years recent experience in Emergency/Critical care department (or very similar)
- excellent communication skills
- Need to pass the NMC OSCE exam, and the NHS Pathways exam after reaching UK. (Those who cannot pass NHS Pathways and examination, will be offered an interview as a registered nurse in another NHS trust after passing NMC OSCE exam)

Job roles
- This is a call centre role, not a patient-facing role
- NHS 111 is aa telephone service which is available 24/7 to patients with urgent healthcare needs; providing assessment and clinical advice by telephone
- Working on the telephone providing clinical triage and community care/family centred/first assessment
- Clinical queue management, including signposting patients to alternative healthcare providers such as attending an Emergency Department, visiting a pharmacy or speaking to a General Practitioners

- The ability to listen and quickly understand what’s happening
- The empathy to be able to talk to the person in the way that will connect with them
- The kind of clinical assessment skills that will enable you to cut through what’s been said and understand what’s really happening
- A level of calm that enables you to deal with even the most distressing situations quickly and without hesitation
Note: Your first ten weeks in the UK will be preparing for the NMC OSCE assessment. If you cannot pass the OSCE after three attempts your visa will become invalid. You will then begin your NHS Pathways training which includes a number of assessments and a requirement to pass call audits. You will have two attempts to pass each NHS Pathways exam/audit. If you are unable to meet the overall requirements of NHS Pathways you will be offered an interview to work as a band 5 nurse at another NHS trust who will support your career.
