ODEPC Team with Hon’ble Minister for Labour and Skills, Government of Kerala Meets Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, Kuwait.
A high-level delegation led by Hon’ble Minister for Labour, Skills, and Excise, Shri.T.P. Ramakrishnan visited Kuwait and Qatar in June 2018 to explore the manpower opportunities in those countries. Shri. N. Sasidharan Nair, Chairman, ODEPC; Dr.Sriram Venkitaraman IAS, Managing Director, ODEPC; Shri.Saju S.S., General Manager, ODEPC; and Shri. Dipu P Nair, Additional Private Secretary to Minister, accompanied the Minister during this visit.
They had discussions with Dr.Mustafa Al Ridha, the Under Secretary of Ministry of Health, Kuwait, and Mr.Sibi V.S., Second Secretary (Labour) of Indian Embassy in Kuwait. They also met Mrs. Hind Sabeesh Barak Al Sabeeh, Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, who delegated the matters of discussion of recruitment matters through Al Durrai Domestic Recruitment Company, and Public Authority for Manpower. Ms. Al-Sabeeh appreciated the skill and capacity of the workers from Kerala and also reminisced her visit to the State. During the meeting with Domestic Recruitment Company and Public Authority for Manpower, they discussed about the recruitment of domestic workers and drivers. They also had an interaction with the business community in Kuwait.
They also got an opportunity to have a discussion with Dr.Issa Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, Minister for Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Qatar. They also met Shri.P.Kumaran, Ambassodor, Indian Embassy of Qatar.
